After a week with my new NTH Barracuda Vintage Green (olive green insert), I noticed a nasty scratch on the bezel insert between 12:00 and 1:00. I don't know what caused it, but it went through the paint down to the metal.
To polish, I first masked off the bezel and then gave the crystal a good wet sanding with 1000 grit sandpaper. This took me about 5-10 minutes. I had to sand pretty vigorously on some of the deeper scratches located at 20 & 50 minutes. My bezel was out by 0.5-1mm. My seamaster diver 300m was pristine and only a few months old. However, there is a limit to how much can be polished, and polishing also removes metal by definition and therefore can change the shape / angles / sharpness of a case, which you may or may not want.
I had the bezel replaced on my co-axial Speedmaster when I got it. The dent was more massive that yours and I just can’t live with that stuff.
