Omega celebrates one of man’s proudest achievements with the release of the Steel Speedmaster Apollo 11 50 th Anniversary. In what must qualify as the most hotly anticipated new watch release of 2019, we have the Steel Speedmaster Apollo 11 50 th Anniversary limited edition from Omega.Celebrating the 50th anniversary of Apollo 11 in 1969, OMEGA presents a Limited Edition model of 6,969 pieces. The watch includes a 42mm stainless steel case with a polished 18K Moonshine™ Gold bezel. The bezel ring is polished black ceramic with an OMEGA Ceragold™ tachymeter scale. There is a varnished grey and black dial with all indexes and hands in 18K .
With 6,969 individually-numbered pieces made, this watch comes with the familiar 42-mm stainless steel case and features domed sapphire crystal. Its bracelet with polished and brushed finishes recalls the original bracelet used for Buzz Aldrin’s Speedmaster.
Featuring a solid flat-link stainless steel bracelet and 42mm case with few flourishes of Omega’s new Moonshine gold that debuted on the solid gold variant earlier this year, the new steel variant is limited to 6,969 pieces, carrying a number of design cues inspired by the historic Apollo 11 moon mission, including a 9 o’clock subdial exhibiting.This 26-jewel movement is a 3Hz caliber that oscillates at 21,600 vibrations per hour and holds its power for approximately 50 hours. In addition to the stainless-steel bracelet with a deployant buckle, this watch arrives with a comfortable Velcro strap which has a black coated cork.
