At the very least it keeps people from shopping across 2 or 3 different AD and make their sole decision based on discounts, driving the price down. Last week, on September 1st, Omega raised its prices for many (or all) of its watches. On most models, we find an increase of 6%. This marks the second price increase from Omega this year. Since its introduction in early 2021, the retail price of the new Moonwatch Master Chronometer (reference 310.30.42.50.01.001) rose from €6,200 [.]

Back in the late-70's and early-80's prices were raised two or three times a year by substantial amounts due to raging inflation. But now, after an increase of 0 USD, the watch has surpassed ,000 USD – moving up from ,900 USD to ,100 USD. This also can cause a slight trickle-down effect in the secondary market, with pre-owned pricing upped to match the raised value at retail. As the chart indicates, opting for a steel 3861 Speedmaster comes with ~12.5% increase in price for the sapphire and a ~17.8% increase for the Hesalite example.
